>>1751914 but here are some for starters:
The Communist Manfiesto (or Principles of Communism if that's too much for you)
State and Revolution
Renegade Kautsky
The best person to read if you want to do something is Lenin.
>>1751922Do not listen to this person.
>Run for local officeOn what basis? What's the platform? Fixing up traffic lights and potholes? Liberalism. Spending more money on x,y,z? Liberalism. If you want to run for office, join a socialist organization and run on the basis of what you learn from your theoretical study. Look at what the Bolsheviks did and how their representatives acted in the Tsarist Duma.
>Set up a groupPlease do not do this unless there is absolutely no group where you are/you do not agree with any of them. The left is plagued by multiple sects with virtually identical politics. Read your theory, reach out to groups, argue with them if you think they're wrong, etc. And I mean actually read the stuff Lenin, Marx, Trotsky, Stalin, Mao wrote and decide for yourself.
>Mutual aidTotally useless. You will burn yourself out because nobody can solve the problems of capitalist society in small groups of people handing out clothes for the homeless. Mutual aid is band aids for cancer patients.
>Direct actionAgain, for what end? Learn to ask yourself these questions.
>SpiritualityThere is no god, do not ever listen to anybody who tells you that any part of being a socialist involves making concessions to "spirituality"
