OP here. I should mention that my major was linguistics, and my main intellectual interest is philosophy. I was inspired to make this post while thinking about how much of generative syntax was more or less bullshit. I make fun of psychologists a lot for not studying a real field, but my field is not exactly stellar in terms of being grounded in reality.
Plenty of STEM stuff is "fake" as I would define it. Look at kurgsegagt or really anything a science communicator has said about aliens. And of course evopsych is the gold standard for made up STEM bullshit. I wasn't intending to rekindle tired old fights between humanities and STEM majors. Both areas of knowledge are very important to human flourishing.
I stand by my ranking though.
