I'd advice you to seek some help. I say this as a man that loves anime and 2D waifus, but I have more hobbies, and it's a bit odd not to have more. Now if you're perfectly happy and productive, making strides to new goals and so on, then you're okay, but if it's the only thing that gets you happy during the day, then this might be a sign of mental illness. Don't worry, I also take meds. Nothing wrong with that.

Japanese animation is the only thing worse than Cal art. Its boring, never fucking changes and constantly descends into retarded tropes that are "charming" only to retards who forced themselves to like them (and children). At least Cal art limits its cancer to the animation style, and not the presentation. Don't get me started on porn. Hentai is only "good" because it is only really developed drawn porn out there, aside from furry stuff (which, if you aren't put off by it, is infinitely fucking better and constantly makes me think "man, I'd love to see this but with humans"), and any fanfic r34 made in a non-3d and non-anime style btfos the shit out of hentai.
So what I am saying that we need to avoid a centrist position, say no to the left and right deviations, and say no to both anime and Cal art.
Wanted to post, but remembered the fact that it is not necessarily all of Japanese cartoons that are like this. Animatrix is a proof of how much inventive shit there could be. However, for one reason or another, it is the shittiest style that has won out.

Seems a fitting thread to post this.
r/Animemes recently altered their rule #5 (be nice) to include banning the word trap. The userbase went ballistic with 10K people leaving, so the mods are planning to reverse the ban. r/ANICOMMUNISM has been bitching about this being "trasnphobic" for so long that its outright boring, but I thought I'd let y'all "weebs" know.
IMO, people who whine about the word trap being "transphobic" don't know what they're talking about and are just virtue-signaling.
To quote one intelligent user, "The word has NOTHING to do with trans people. If in not mistaken, trans people are people that are born one gender but would rather be / identified as the other, and that's totally fine. Everyone can do what they want with their life, and if the want to identify as the other gender then so be it. A Trap in an anime-sense is a dude dressing like a girl, but he isn't trying to be one. It's a guy that likes to dress like a girl, or the other way around. I'm not looking at a picture of a trans person and think "haha a trap" because that is factually not the case. And a bear trap isn't the only trap there is. By definition, a trap also is a trick intended to deceive someone, so calling these characters something else than a trap is wrong. The problem is not the word trap, it's the people that misuse the word trap in the community, and it's these people you should crack down on."
Also just for context, the whole 'trap' meme comes from a reference to the Admiral Ackbar meme from Star Wars "it's a trap" which weebs on 4chan used way back in the early 2000s. Trans people weren't even on the RADAR when this meme was being made.
No.4145
>>4144 r/Animemes banned the word "Trap" as it was somehow seen as "offensive" and a "slur". Ironically however, most, if not all, traps real or imagined self-identify as male, making the mods the transphobes.
No.4146
>>4144trap was often used on in early days of chan culture to refer to what we would today call trans people, like bailey jay. I don't care either way but this line
>Trans people weren't even on the RADAR when this meme was being made. is at best a half-truth.
No.4147
>>4146Early internet/chan culture which had the word trap, had this word as both a positive signifier, which would lead to tumblr trans culture and all the way forward to trans erp discord servers today. And as a negative signifier, which would lead to /pol/ and all the hatred and paranoia about "discord tr*nnies".
Most people seem willing to write "trap" off as a reactionary slur and throw the baby out with the bath water. Seems like an uphill battle to reclaim it, but I can't look down on the effort as that's similar to what is going on with /leftypol/.
No.4148
>>4146>refer to trans people<bailey Jay
Uhhh no. That was /pol/ co-opting /a/ shit. Crossdressers/dragqueens (transvstites) and transgender people are different m8. Hell the very fact that weebs and /a/-fags constantly state that traps does not refer to trans people implicitly proves that the majority of people who use the word "trap" are NOT referring to trans people.

>>4147>And as a negative signifier, which would lead to /pol/ and all the hatred and paranoia about "discord tr*nnies". Is this really true though? For one, trap is really only used in weeb spaces, I've very rarely if ever seen the word trap in /pol/; it's mostly dilate spam and calling everyone a tranny.

>>4116You've lost touch with humanity and are depressed. You're not stupid for liking only that, if that's what you're asking.
>>4144>IMO, people who whine about the word trap being "transphobic" don't know what they're talking about and are just virtue-signaling. It's important to know that people who get offended at the term "trap" are
partially justified: perverts who love traps/femboys often call trans people that because they don't care or mix them up. Obviously, I agree that "trap" isn't synonymous with "trans", they're clearly two different things, and I doubt (most of) those who want to ban the term are unaware of that. It's just that "trap" is also used to describe trans people out of ignorance or sometimes malice.
That kid also got both terms a little wrong. Traps are male characters who pass as female and make you think they're girls whether they're trying or not; if a male character that looks too masculine to pass crossdresses, that's not a trap. But who gives a shit, I guess. It looks like the subreddit's users can differentiate between trans and trap and the mods are too afraid of the potential of "trap" as a slur.
>>4145>Ironically however, most, if not all, traps real or imagined self-identify as male, making the mods the transphobes. It's hard to believe that's their thought process.
It's not "you're calling this character, which we think might be trans because they're biologically male but could actually identify as trans due to their appearance and behavior, the transphobic slur 'trap' which is wrong and offensive".
Instead, it's more like "by calling trans women 'traps', transphobes and people who don't know any better are saying that trans women's issues are illegitimate and they're nothing more than males trying to look like women as a hobby or fetish, just like fictional 'trap' characters, turning the term into a transphobic slur". At least I hope that's how the mods see it, but I don't doubt for a second that there are some idiots in that subreddit or even the moderation team whose thought process is more like the former.
