Since Japanese laws forbids from hiring scabs, companies outsourced production. Now it's even easier to outsource production in China, Korea or Vietnam. Animators can't win.

One approach would be:
- Purchase manga that have anime adaptations made by unionized animators.
- Donate a copy of each to local libraries to get locals, especially kids interested in them.
- If the libraries have DvD sections, donate the animes too.
- Offer to paint murals for locals that feature characters from them.
- Stop seeding non-unionized anime if you torrent.

tbh hollywood animators (CN, Nick, Disney) do pretty well even by HCOL LA, I think a senior animator makes around 140k. And these people aren't really talented in comparison to the average animator in Japan as CalArts has seemingly dropped teaching anatomy to any of its students.
They may be unionized however

>>18040this is just false, pick up old school animation books - those people were masters and it shows even in their simple use of forms.
you seem to want to disparage the talent of the majority of these arists (japanese animators have excellent anatomical knowledge) for really no reason.
